Campus Climate Survey

In May 2021, the Institute conducted its first campus climate survey to more fully understand the experiences of individuals who work and study on campus.

The survey was developed by the Climate Survey Working Group, whose members represent all campus constituencies, in consultation with Rankin & Associates. All active students, faculty, staff, and postdocs—as well as affiliates working at the Caltech Y, the USGS Pasadena field office on Wilson Avenue, the Caltech Employees Federal Credit Union, and the Caltech Childcare Center and Child Education Center—were invited to participate. The survey was administered in accord with Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols, and all responses were anonymous.

Rankin & Associates discussed survey results at two virtual presentations on Nov. 19, 2021. A recording is available to those with access.caltech.edu credentials.
